"A 4 Star Vintage" -Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino
Like an island in the heart of Tuscany, the hill of Montalcino offers to those who ascend from the valleys surrounding it the feeling of a gradual conquest, the sense of arriving in a snug harbor. The people of this town have always been devoted to thelabors of forest and field. But they have also enjoyed moments of proud glory, as during the struggle for communal liberty in the 16th century when they long resisted the besieging armies of Spain and France. But certainly the best image of Montalcino is revealed by its signature wine, the most precious gift of a land that is at the same time hard and generous.
On Friday, July 25th we'll take a look at 13 top Brunelli producers from the 2003 vintage. And for added interest we'll be showing them to you in a blind format! Blind tasting is something wine professionals engage in to remove the influence of label or producer on our impressions. This technique is often very revealing, showing us what we truly think about a wine in the absence of anything other than what's in the glass. We hope you'll join us!
